Creating Matilda: My ideal self

As I've been working on personal growth and self-discovery, I've found that it can be helpful to have a clear idea of who I want to be and what I want to achieve. To that end, I decided to create a persona that I call "Matilda." Matilda represents my ideal self, the person I strive to be.

But who is Matilda?

For me, Matilda is the cool girl, with pretty nails and clothes which aesthetic I like. She is patient, kind and knows how to stand her ground. She has tattoos. She works in tech and knows what she wants. She works out regularly (but not necessarily everday) and eats healthy, because you only get older and not younger, and health is not something you can buy. She likes to study and learn more things. Even her hobbies are cool, like making her own clothes and she does her own nail designs. Matilda takes time every day to study korean and IT.

If she's not in the mood to move because she is feeling too low energy, she know's that's fine because we all need days of rest. Those days of rest she spends without feelings of guilt because she know's it's what her body and mind need.

She knows when to spend money and when to save it.

To create Matilda, I started by making a Pinterest board where I assembled pictures of the job I would like to have, the fashion I would like to wear and the makeup skills I would like to have. I also collected quotes that reflect my thoughts and inspire me to try and achieve what I dream of.

That way I can visualize my end goal more clearly. Because if you don't know what you really want, how are you supposed to achieve it?

o Through this process, I realized that I am really drawn to careers that are creative, such as graphic design, but also that I want to stay in IT and keep studying about it. I also looked more into what kind of fashion I like and would like sew and wear. Seeing all of these elements together on my board, I felt like I had a much clearer idea of what I want to achieve and where I want to go.

Since creating Matilda, my manifest persona, I've found that I feel more motivated and focused. I am closer to what I dream of and what I want to achieve. I feel like I have a clear vision of what I want to do with my life and what I want to accomplish. I am now more driven than ever before to work hard and make my dreams a reality.

I would recommend creating a persona like Matilda to anyone who is trying to find direction and focus in their life. It can be a powerful tool to help you gain clarity and motivation in pursuit of your goals.
