English Vocabulary and Grammar Practice for Elementary Learners

Objective: By the end of the lesson, the student will be able to use basic English vocabulary and grammar structures in simple sentences.
Materials: Flashcards with pictures of common objects and actions, a whiteboard, markers, a printed worksheet, and a picture book in English.
Warm-up (5 minutes):
Greet the student and ask her about her day.
Play a quick game of "I Spy" in English to practice vocabulary (e.g., "I spy something that is red," etc.)
Vocabulary Practice (10 minutes):
Show flashcards with pictures of common objects and actions, and ask the student to name the object or action in English.
If the student struggles to remember a word, repeat it a few times and provide the Korean translation to help her remember.
Write the English words on the whiteboard to reinforce the spelling.
Grammar Practice (20 minutes):
Introduce a basic English grammar structure (e.g., present tense verb + subject) and provide examples on the whiteboard.
Ask the student to practice making simple sentences using the grammar structure and the vocabulary words covered in the lesson.
Provide assistance as needed and encourage the student to use full sentences and proper grammar.
Reading Practice (10 minutes):
Read a picture book together with the student, taking turns reading out loud.
Encourage the student to sound out words and ask for help if she needs it.
Point out the English words on each page and ask the student to identify them.
Ask comprehension questions in English about the story to make sure the student understood what was read.
Worksheet Practice (5 minutes):
Provide the student with a printed worksheet with simple sentences in English.
Ask the student to complete the sentences by filling in the missing word.
Provide assistance as needed and encourage the student to use the vocabulary and grammar structures covered in the lesson.
Closing (5 minutes):
Review the vocabulary and grammar structures covered in the lesson.
Ask the student to make a simple sentence using one of the vocabulary words covered in the lesson.
Say goodbye and provide feedback on the student's progress.
Note: Be patient and use positive reinforcement to encourage the student's efforts. Keep the lesson engaging and interactive to hold the student's attention. Incorporate the student's interests into the lesson to make it more enjoyable and relevant.
